Dear Jane

I've been thinking about making a Dear Jane quilt for a while now. They are really stunning and I love the idea of working on so many different blocks to make a huge sampler quilt.

I ordered the book from our local quilt shop The Running Stitch I think this Summer. I've been researching all different types of Baby Janes on Flickr and I think I'm finally geared up to get started. I think I'd like to do batiks, and am thinking of using white fabric for the background colour because it is easy to get more of and I don't know if I'm ready to invest in all of the 20 yards right now.

My only worry with white and batiks fabrics is the colour bleed issue. I'm not sure if this is the best idea...I'm also considering using my scrap fabrics with white instead.

As you can tell, I'm a bit undecided. It's hard to make a decision like this for such a long project. I need to be thinking into the future, and what I will want in a few years when it is finished.

I welcome any suggestions.

Stay tuned for some blocks.

Golly Gee Sarah! The Mini Quilt is beautiful. Thank you very much for the great quilt using the goodies I provided. I have to be honest with you, yours is going to be delayed due to me being out of town this weekend on a surprise birthday getaway by hubby. Hope to have it out in the post by the weeks end. Hope you have had a lovely anniversary with hubby?! Cheers.

Hi, I am your partner for the quilt in a bag. :-) I see you are wanting to make a Dear Jane Quilt. I joined a group online that is making one and got way behind on my blocks. I have put it aside for now but will pick it up again soon. It will be a great accomplishment if I every finish it. LOL! :-)

I've started my jane but have yet to take any photos. I have 13 blocks done. I'm doing green, pink and red. Strawberry Jane.

I'm excited for our swap!
